For a low fee, we'll register your domain name with ICANN (the organization that manages domain names across the Internet).

What Does It Cost?

The price depends on the domain's suffix (such as ".com" or ".uk") and the length of time for which you register the domain:

All prices are in US dollars. Domains ending in .uk are only available for two-year periods.

It usually takes less than an hour from the time you submit the application, although in rare cases it may take as long as 48 hours. (The exact time depends on the domain name registry and other factors not under our control.)

Once I've registered my domain, how do I make changes?

You simply login to our Web site with your password. Our full-featured interface allows you to easily change your contact information and name servers.

What information do I need to register a domain name?

You'll need to know the names of two "name servers" (sometimes called "DNS servers") for your domain. These usually look like "ns1.example.com" and "ns2.example.com". The company or person who will be hosting your Web site can tell you this information.

I haven't yet decided where to host my Web site, so I don't know the name server addresses. Can I register (or "park") the domain anyway, just to get started?

Yes, you can register the domain and update the name servers later. We'll "park" the domain name, meaning we'll register it for you and put up a Web page telling people you've registered it. This gives you a way to make sure that the name you want can't be taken by anyone else.

We don't charge any extra fee for parking domain names in this manner. Of course, you won't be able to change the appearance of your Web site, and people won't be able to send you e-mail at that address, until you login and supply the name server information from your Web hosting company.

Can you do URL forwarding?

We can forward your domain to another Web site at no extra charge (for example, if your domain is "example.com" and someone types "www.example.com" in a Web browser, we can redirect that to something like "www.geocities.com/example/"). Just send us an e-mail and we'll set it up right away.

URL forwarding does not forward e-mail for the domain. If you want to receive e-mail as well, we recommend our Web hosting plan, which includes a free domain name, comprehensive e-mail support, and a Web site with no annoying advertising, for as little as $6.25 per month.
